Dan Haar – is business editor at The Hartford Courant. Dan joined The Courant in 1981 as a photographer after graduating from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. He became a staff writer in 1987, and covered Connecticut towns, state and national politics and numerous business news beats. As an economics columnist he was a finalist for the Gerald Loeb Award in commentary in 2005. Dan lives in West Hartford with his daughter, where he coaches soccer, kayaks and plays ultimate frisbee. He is a member of the alumni association executive committee at Wesleyan.
Joel Kreisberg – is the Founder and Executive Director of the Teleosis Institute, an institution dedicated to reducing healthcare’s footprint while broadening its ecological vision. Joel is currently an adjunct professor at the School of Holistic Studies at John F. Kennedy University and California Institute of Integral Studies Masters in Integrative Health Studies. Dr. Kreisberg completed his Doctor of Chiropratic at New York Chiropractic College and he received a Master of Arts degree in Integral Ecology from Prescott College. Author of several books on Homeopathy and he has been teaching and lecturing worldwide for over 20 years. He maintains a private practice in Berkeley, CA.
Tom Land – is manager of international programs for the protection of the ozone layer at the Environmental Protection Agency. After returning from Peace Corps in Botswana, Tom then earned his Masters of Science at Michigan State University in 1989 with an interdisciplinary program of resource economics, environmental policy and law, and community development. Tom again joined Peace Corps and went to Chile to help with environmental policy. In 1994, he began his work at the EPA protecting the ozone layer, initially responsible for implementing the U.S. program that stopped production of CFCs and other ozone-depleting substances. In 1995, he started representing the U.S. at international treaty negotiations on the ozone layer sponsored by the United Nations Environment Program. Tom lives with his wife and daughter in Washington Grove, MD. He is an avid hiker and maintains has practice yoga of 15 years.
